The Marketer will report to the President.

Job Overview

The Marketer position is to provide a comprehensive all-encompassing marketing strategy including, but not limited to events, mass marketing emails, text messages, social media, and any other form of contact with our current and potential clients. Success within this role will be determined by increased engagement from our customers, event success, consistency in branding, and content and quantity of marketing messages in all forms.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create and present a marketing schedule. Maintain and hold yourself responsible to the marketing schedule.
  • Implement marketing campaigns from beginning, refine them and see them through to completion.
  • Give yourself tasks, be self-motivated and create and track your own goals.
  • Learn apps and other programs that will enhance our marketing and help with scheduling posts and emails.

  • Simple Texting
  • Hootsuite (or other marketing software for scheduling posts/emails of your choice)
  • MailChimp / Constant Contact
  • All social media platforms that we use 
  • Answer all messages within our social media platforms within an acceptable amount of time.
  • Analyze different marketing campaigns and provide relevant information including ROI and engagement.
  • Create engaging and informative content for the website, blog, social media and any other content marketing channels the business may use.
  • Build sustainable relationships and partnerships with other key players such as vendors, advertising agencies, and creative artists as per the need.
  • Contribute to website design and updates.
  • Work with our Photographer and delegate photo related content creation and editing to them.
  • Work with and delegate marketing tasks to certain individuals within the organization.
  • Oversee, create and/or approve of marketing material, from web design to physical brochures.
  • Reputation Management
  • Monitor and analyze online content related to the company, including social media, search engines, blogs and communities, and consumer forums. This includes identifying and tracking negative content, as well as positive content that can be used to boost the company's reputation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize the impact of positive online content and minimize the impact of negative online content. This may involve responding to negative comments, creating positive content, or working with other teams to improve the company's overall online presence.
  • Work with other teams to develop and implement reputation management policies and procedures. This includes creating guidelines for responding to negative comments, as well as setting goals for improving the company's online reputation.
  • Track the effectiveness of reputation management efforts and make recommendations for improvement. This includes collecting data on online sentiment, measuring the impact of negative and positive content, and identifying areas where the company can improve its reputation. 
  • Use a consistent and professional approach when delivering feedback with all staff members.
  • Plan and organize events and see them through to completion.
  • Create and manage a marketing budget. 
  • Travel to other IRIS locations to gain content and for various marketing needs.
  • Use 15-20% of your time to help with other businesses within the business family like The Glass Hall and Pupil Hall. Pupil Hall will seldomly need your time, but more likely during launches.
  • Apply direction and feedback given from the President. This will include new responsibilities that become a part of the Marketing Manager role as it evolves.

Qualifications

  • Marketing experience with the frame of mind of continuing education.
  • Knowledge of systems commonly used within marketing (e.g., Google Adwords, MailChimp, etc)
  • Knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, WebTrends, etc)
  • Competently able to use and navigate the full Microsoft Office suite or Google Workspace apps.
  • Up to date with latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.
  • Great sense of aesthetics.
  • Ability to create copy, and caring and engaging communication.
  • Marketing degree or degree in related field preferred.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job you will be continually required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk or hear. Required to stand, walk, stoop, lean over and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs. The marketing office has stairs to reach the second level where the planned office will be. Occasional and reasonable accommodations can be met if finding difficulty on stairs.

*This is not a remote job and does require travel to an office 4-5 days per week. The office is located in Boulder, CO and you will need to be able to physically be in the office.
