What does it mean to be a professional piercer at IRIS?

IRIS was established in 2005 with the goal of offering safe piercings with the highest quality jewelry, done in a fun, welcoming environment with a professional atmosphere. Since the beginning, IRIS has been an entirely disposable studio that is primarily tool-free as well.

A piercer at IRIS is expected to maintain those standards as to continue to offer clients the best experience possible.

IRIS operates primarily by appointment with schedules that tend to be fairly consistent, based off the needs of the other team members. Piercers at IRIS will work with top names in the jewelry industry; NeoMetal, Anatometal, LeRoi, Pupil Hall, and BVLA, along with jewelry designers exclusive to IRIS, such as Suzanne Kalan, Shiva, Megan Thorne and our own IRIS line.

What qualifications do I need to be a piercer at IRIS?

At this time we are looking to add piercers who have a minimum of three years piercing experience. You will need to have an understanding of how to offer piercings done properly using aseptic technique. First Aid and Blood-borne Pathogen certification is to be complete and up to date.

We are looking to add team members who can provide a portfolio showing their work and references we can contact. IRIS piercers are expected to be able to work well with their team, sharing their knowledge with their Gallery Assistants and aiding them in the studio as needed.

IRIS piercers need to be able to reinforce the inviting feel the studio has to offer. Communicating with clients and coworkers calmly and effectively, without ego is expected.

Piercers at IRIS are members of the APP. If you are not, we can work with you to help you become one.

To apply, you must provide us with a resume. You may upload your resume on this page.
