Proper aftercare ensures a smooth and comfortable healing process. Keep your new piercing clean, dry, and protected to help your body heal naturally and safely.

Daily Care

  • Clean twice a day: Use a sterile saline spray or solution. Spray and let air-dry—no need to twist or move the jewelry.
  • Hands off: Avoid touching or rotating your jewelry unless you’ve washed your hands thoroughly.
  • Avoid trauma: Be mindful of clothing, towels, or bedding that might snag or rub against your piercing.
  • No submersion: Avoid pools, lakes, hot tubs, and baths until your piercing is fully healed.

Healing Timeline

Body piercings typically take 3–12 months to heal completely, depending on the location and your individual healing process. Even after it looks healed, deeper tissue may still be delicate—always check with your piercer before changing jewelry.

What’s Normal

  • Mild redness or swelling for the first 2-4 weeks
  • Light crust or clear discharge as the area heals
  • Sensitivity when sleeping or pressure is applied

Bottled Water

Rinse regularly with fresh cold bottled water.

Oral piercings heal quickly, but your mouth naturally harbors bacteria—so keeping things clean is crucial. Consistent rinsing, good hygiene, and gentle care make all the difference.

Cleaning Routine

  • Rinse 4–6 times daily: Swish and rinse with fresh cold bottled water after eating or drinking anything.
  • Morning & night: Rinse after waking and before bed to reduce buildup.
  • Hands off: Avoid playing with your jewelry using your tongue or fingers—it can prolong healing and irritate tissue.

What to Avoid

  • Spicy, hot, or acidic foods that can cause irritation
  • Alcohol and smoking, which slow healing
  • Kissing or oral contact until the piercing is healed

Healing Timeline

Most oral piercings heal in 8-12 weeks, though swelling can last up to 2-4 weeks. If you notice persistent pain, excessive swelling, or unusual discharge, contact your piercer or a healthcare provider for guidance.
